Stephen,
I’m pretty sure you will make it this time, I had same situation… The only thing is being focused on verifications and being relax about the result.
Hi Stephen,
Just came back from brussell. Second try for SP and failed again. I fell you ๐ .
I plan to use other vendors also for last and final try .
Advices:
1. you need to be fast on the exam to have time to verify everything. So practice speed. I try now to use notepad as much as possible. First try i had 1 hour to check and now just 20 minutes.
2. use other vendors like ip expert . I used INE till now.
3. be calm in the exam and don’t rush. read twice the questions when start configuring.
4. don’t go in exam with doubts about anything. practice your week spots ( mine are services and security – i scored 95% in mpls vpn yesterday)
5. sleep in the night before – yesterday i was not in my full capacity – i did not sleep well at all. use a natural sleeping pill or drink tee.
Ovi,
Wow, sorry to hear that pal – it is a sickening blow and to achieve 95% in a section worth about 40 points I would have thought you had broken the back on the exam – There are plenty of dates in Brussels available up to August – you are so close – go for it.
Steve.
Well Now backing up will not be a good idea
i know its hard ……. but it will pay up
10 years your going behind this goal
don’t give up
make this 10 year count make yourself count your time and your hardwork
me to have a exam in same month
so to both of us best wishes

The truth of the matter and what is more… the common sense of the matter is that the OEQ were always a charade!!!
A discriminator!
Now the OEQ still persists to discriminate in the Service Provider, Wireless, SAN, and Security CCIE tracks…
Does anyone at all note that these are tracks in which there are no Cisco 360 Programs available at this time?
Cisco’s 360 Program largely failed to offer any advantage to its students and now seeks to mask this fact further by removing the OEQ entirely from the RS and Voice tracks (tracks served by the Cisco 360 Program).
There is still evil afoot…
No one should rest until the OEQ are a bad nightmare told to cheating son’s of bitches trying to become CCNA’s in some other land than whatever country you are from…
Cisco is still at it and it is no more than common thievery!!!
4 questions for $1400.00 – 1 decides whether a person is a CCIE is just wrong!!!
Cisco needs to offer vouchers to anyone who has taken such a lottery… and as many times.
Let’s face it – hard working candidates worldwide were stolen from and for no more than a lottery ticket… not a test of knowledge and skill.
I have been a reader of your blog for a while now and only just came across this somewhat interesting fact – 10 years and is it still worth going for?
I have been at it off and on for the same amount of time.. i passed the R & S written in may 2001! 2 lab attempts at R&S followed… and then a further 2 attempts at SP in 2006/07… just recently passed the SP written.. and starting to get in to labbing…
I would like to pass but, I realised that the CCIE/Certs should not determine my worth as an engineer regardless of what employers say.. and I have a lot of wonderful things happen to me on a personal level over they years.. marriage, kids to name a couple..
so.. im studying for ccie again.. but, its not the end of the world and i am taking it reeeaall easy… and well see what happens!
keep up the good work on the blog… and best of luck in your next attempt!!

Oh my. This makes me sad.
Keep your head up and move onto a different vendor is my take. You’ll find less proprietary stuff and and exam that’s not a moving target.

Stephen,
Keep working towards the SP. It’s very difficult, though completely worth it.
Good Luck,

Hi Youssef,

Steve.
My score reports looks similar with a few more lab attempts so far.
